Rituals for Bathing and Bath Rituals

How to wash your hair when you find it difficult

1) Local Hairdressers:

Get to know a local hairdresser and ask them if they might wash your hair for you without a blow dry. Explain you’re disabled and find it difficult to do this. Getting into the habit of going to a hairdresser once a week means you’ll make sure to get your hair done without fail.

Hairdressers in London usually charge £10-15 for this hair wash.

2) Mobile Hairdressers:

Find out about a local hairdressers. They might charge less if they know you’re disabled and have access needs. The council or local social workers might know of mobile hairdressers who don’t cost the earth. Some mobile hairdressers might “fit you in” between jobs.

3) Use dry shampoo if it’s too difficult to stay on top of things but creating it into a ritual, will make hairwashing much easier.

4) If you have a bath, bring the showerhead into the bath with you so you can wash your hair easier sitting down in the tub.

5) Remember to add salts, especially magneisum salt. The salt is excellent for your skin but also brilliant for your hair, it gets rid of grease as well so makes your hair wash last longer
