About Womoon

We do not censor ND Writing

Please note, we do not censor ND writing or art. We attend to your work as a curator and we curate your work to imagery. Please be aware that whilst we do not censor sometimes your layout might get changed and this is beyond our control because we do not have the funding to cover IT costs. Magical Women is a platform for artists and we curate your work with care so it needs not be censored.

Womoon

Magical Women’s Commitment

Magical Women was set up to change the narrative of not paying Neurodivergent artists. Exhibiting Neurodivergent artists’ artwork is simply not enough if you’re not going to be investing in or supporting those artists to sustain their practice in the arts.

Womoon remains an online Neurodivergent led magazine but because of our commitment to paying Neurodivergent artists and this includes our own salary to run this website, we are no longer able to run Womoon without funding. Therefore, Magical Women have teamed up with some brilliant artists who have come forward to sustain the magazine whilst we’re between funding. In return we’re platforming their incredible skills across all our social media.

From time to time, you might see some artists or writers published in Womoon and this comes from root participants who will guest edit or guest write for Womoon unpaid but to keep up their professional practice skills. You will need to have participated in a workshop or worked with Magical Women in some kind of capacity to take up this position. If you have not and still want to be on this platform, we invite you to send work in to us first via email. Email us at:

Womoon’s Policies

  1. When funded, we invite ND writers to write articles for our chapters Rage, Persist or Ritual & Magic and get paid for your contribution (April 2020-February 2021)

  2. Due to our commitment to uncensored writing we cannot accept pseudonyms or fake names. We are about working with writers to develop and publish their work and further their practice.* *We are open to discussions about this but we have had a few issues with writers suddenly wanting to change their name or make changes to their writing after it has been published and they had already been paid. Unfortunately we do not have the capacity to be at your beck and call. We are committed to working with ND artists and writers who want a platform to write and make as themselves, relieved of the pressure to conform.

  3. All Chapters can be accessed for free.

  4. Within Womoon Online, we offer features, Opinion pieces, Personal Essays and Reflective pieces.

  5. We also welcome MW artists to contribute via video as well and are slowly adding to our Youtube Channel. Essays in written form and video form are both paid (when we are funded).

  6. We are professional artists and we exist to be a platform to bring relaxed and accessible spaces to neurodivergent, Disabled, Survivor and In solidarity artists.

  7. This means we platform 89% of ND/Disabled female artists and 11% of Survivor and In solidarity artists. For more information do contact us.

  8. It is free to send your work in, you do not have to pay to do this. We do not censor work and we ask that if you publish it on your own blog or elsewhere to put “Originally commissioned by Magical Women” and link it back to us.

  9. Online, Womoon is divided into Chapters:

    • Magic and Rituals

    • Day in a Life of Artist

    • Into the Woods

    • Persist

    • Rage

    • Making Space for Reflections
