Magical Blog

Welcome to the Magical Blog. Each week we will contribute ideas, essays, monographs and writings towards this section of our website. Parts of these words can be found in our upcoming Zines.

Seeking Shelter

Magical Women was set up as a place to attend to practice, that felt safer because the risk of expression from an autistic tongue was possible. The possibility of presence for autistic people is something we seek in all things. We often experience intrusive thoughts and this the neurotypicals call “self-depracation” only it’s not because we do believe in ourselves, only we are so much more than this planet, these feelings, that haunt the ground we tread on.

These feelings that haunt the ground we tread on.

And we need space, we require it, and shelter, and sanctuary, in wild, open places

Such as is our heart, such as is our home, such as is the places we roam to when we make art.

Oh how we stim - move back and forth, move in and out, move, balance, fall, find out, search, open up, creep.

We long for.

We read to you the cards, oracles and tarot.

We believe in signs and patterns and search in starsigns - yet we are also scientific - using the remnants of relics, prisms of magic from an autistic gaze, we plant the seeds with our eyes.

Our hands hold earth.

We open our hearts to what we uncover from the brown soil.

We grow wiser from the moment we remember our first memory.

We seek a home, overgrown, in wet paint, materials, clay, we form and mould for us

What we so wanted from the moment we chose to speak.
