Free of nuns
Beyond the wall
Hemmed in by fences
You spoke to me
Attracted senses
Within the hedgerow
Along the long lane
I will go now
Where I’ve been trained

To identify
And slowly learn
The blue speedwells
Forget-Me-Nots
The sound of bells
The notes I jot
Beside the oak
I’ll take my rest
As black crows croak
Escape the blessed
