Elinor Rowlands

Magical Women Founder

Elinor founded Magical Women at the end of 2019, developing a Neurodivergent led model where ND women artists gather in relaxed and empowering spaces to make art. She conceived a model of where artists can learn and speak about their art practice discovering their power and magic. Elinor paints, is a Sound poet and Visual Audio artist (she is also a Specialist Mentor, Study Skills tutor and a Jungian art psychotherapist.) Her favourite thing to do is to collaborate with other MW artists or to facilitate collaboration so that MW artists see their art transformed by the power of the shared experience and collective unconscious.

Megan Garrett - Jones

Admin

Magical Women got to know Megan during our first ND Writers Workshops. Megan embraced our ND led workshops and attended to her practice with an open heart. Though she is not a ND herself, we loved her patience and openness to the ND way of being and we approached her for support with a project we were running a little behind on! Since then, Megan has taken to her role in a really expressive way and has supported us with creating a really vibrant newsletter during the lead up to the project. Her ideas for how to make some of our work more accessible and increase traffic is really valuable to us as we continue to experience huge barriers being ND ourselves so Megan’s background in project management in the arts and with institutions like Kent university is invaluable to our work.

Gemma Abbott

Creative Engagement and interim PA (Access) to Elinor

A fellow ND artist, Gemma has been an active member of Magical Women since December 2019 when Elinor was experimenting with it as a Zine and headlined it at the Live Artist Development Agency. Since then, Gemma’s been watching MW grow and grow and grow. She joins Magical Women as an interim PA and regulars will recognise her as participants’ access support during ND Writers’ Workshops. A performance maker and visual storyteller, Gemma enjoys collaborative practice, long walks, singing in her band and getting lost in a good book!

Luana Martignon

Photographer (Events and Documentation)

Luana Martignon joined Magical Women in December 2019 and has worked as Elinor's backstage photographer since 2014 on many of Elinor's film projects. Luana is extremely passionate about Magical Women and is excited to work with Elinor again because “she was always there to motivate me. She made me see my art with her own eyes: she has a power of seeing the best in people’s work and sharing it to others in a way that they will see it too.” Luana has been a photographer on the red carpets including Venice Film Festival and London BFI. She has worked for Balik Arts in Istanbul, Cyprus and Longyearbyen (the northernmost settlement in the world) where she met new people and friends all thanks to her camera. Around her photography and illustrative art practice, she works at Cambridge University as an administrator.
